Associate Pharmacy Technician at Providence Health and Services summary:

The Associate Pharmacy Technician assists in preparing and dispensing medications, including unit dose, IV, and chemotherapeutic drugs, ensuring accuracy, safety, and timely delivery to nursing and ancillary departments. The role requires certification, hospital pharmacy experience, and proficiency in aseptic techniques under pharmacist supervision. Employed within a healthcare system dedicated to inclusive, patient-centered care, the position supports clinical pharmacy functions in a hospital setting.

Description

Performs duties relating to the filling and dispensing of unit dose, IV and chemotherapeutic medications from the pharmacy to the nursing units and other ancillary departments in a prompt, safe and accurate manner. Performs all duties in a manner that promotes teamwork and reflects the Sisters of Providence Mission and Philosophy.

Required Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training Successful completion of a Pharmacy Technician Level A training program certified by the Washington State Board of Pharmacy. Or equivalent educ/experience
  • Upon hire: Washington Pharmacy Technician License
  • Experience with telephone call prioritization.
  • Experience with stressful/urgent need situations.
  • 3 months Practical experience in a hospital pharmacy under the direct supervision of pharmacist.
  • Experienced in IV admixture/aseptic techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 year Hospital pharmacy experience.

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors.
